Celebrating Research at CUNY
SUM features books, published academic research, and creative work by faculty and students at The City University of New York (CUNY). Our stories make academic research readable and relevant.
In the sciences, social sciences, and humanities, we cover recently published books as well as research published by peer-reviewed journals and major news outlets. In the arts, we feature theatrical work, dance, and music that’s been recorded, commissioned, or staged by major production companies or venues, as well as visual art that’s being shown in museums or other public spaces. We don’t cover shows on CUNY campuses.
SUM is not an acronym. In Latin, it means “I am.” In English, it means “the total.”
